Oversized Window and Sidelites Salvaged from a Kentucky Farmhouse, c. 1800's

• Design and Layout: The assembly consists of a large, double-hung central window flanked by two tall, narrow matching sidelights. This configuration was popular in grander 19th-century American farmhouses to maximize natural light across wide exterior walls.
• Greek Revival & Victorian Trim: The header pieces feature prominent carved wooden rosettes—or corner blocks—which are typical of Greek Revival and early Victorian architecture. These decorative blocks mask the structural joints of the heavy window frames.
• The Finish: The wood is heavily weathered with a chippy, layered white-paint patina accumulated from over a century of exposure and repainting. The dark wood showing through indicates old-growth lumber, which was highly resistant to rot and common in early Midwest constructions.
